February 1, 2016 marks a "seismic" shift in the music mix at DoveFM. In response to listener feedback we've moved to a music format that features the most recent Christian hits currently topping the music charts. While the majority of the music you'll now hear on DoveFM is less than 3 years old, we haven't abandoned our "roots". Each hour you'll still hear a number of DoveFM "classic tracks" from the early decades of CCM and Jesus Music eras.
We're starting out 2016 with some exciting news. Our final license authorizing WYVL (broadcasting on 88.5 FM) has been granted by the FCC today! Sometime this weekend we'll be increasing the power of WYVL's transmitter from approximately 1,200 watts to 2,500 watts. This should dramatically increase the quality of our broadcast signal in Warren and Chautauqua counties.
For our listeners in the Warren area, we want to remind you that our translator, 100.7, has been sold and will shortly stop broadcasting DoveFM programming. You should change your radios to receive the more powerful 88.5 signal. For listeners in the Jamestown area, we will continue to broadcast on our translator (98.7), but you may receive a clearer signal on 88.5.
We praise God for allowing us to expand our radio ministry as we move into 2016. We'd like to thank all of our listeners for their prayers and continued support.
Starting Monday, December 21, DoveFM will begin playing all Christmas music during our music hours through Sunday, January 3. Join us in celebrating the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ by listening to new and classic Christmas songs performed by your favorite Christian artists.
Don't forget to check out our Daily Playlists page where you can see every song (and the artist who performed it) that we've played for the last two weeks.
For all of our listeners in the Warren, PA area you can now hear DoveFM on 88.5 in Warren, Russell, Sugar Grove, Jamestown and the surrounding region. We're currently running at half power pending final approval from the FCC. We should be increasing to our full 2500 watts in the next few days!
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at DoveFM!
On Tuesday morning, our trusty WTWT transmitter suddenly died. This affected our listeners in the Bradford, PA and Olean, NY area as well as listeners in Jamestown, NY who tune in to the DoveFM translator at 98.7. After reviewing the situation we determined it made more sense to replace the transmitter with a new Nautel 1000-watt transmitter. As of late last night, WTWT is back on the air!
Thanks to all of our listeners for their patience and prayers. We're also grateful to John Coulter of FLN for assisting us with the installation and configuration of the new transmitter.
The initial work of erecting the new tower and antenna for WYVL was completed yesterday! With God's help, by January 1, 2016 we will be boosting WYVL's power from 100 watts to 2500 watts.
You'll be able to hear Dove-FM on 88.5 in Warren, Sugar Grove, Jamestown, and the surrounding area. Praise God for His faithfulness.
